DPS JAMMU LEADS AN INTERACTIVE DRUG ABUSE WORKSHOP

In an ongoing commitment to raise awareness and promote understanding regarding the multifaceted issues of drug abuse and its repercussions, Delhi Public School Jammu conducted a dynamic two-day workshop on Drug Abuse, tailored for students of class XI and XII.
Under the auspices of the Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu, the workshop welcomed Mr. Aakash Rai and Mr. Abhishek Sharma, Intelligence Officers from NCB Jammu, as esteemed Resource Persons. Their engaging sessions not only emphasized on the pivotal role of educational institutions in combating drug abuse but also on advocacy of healthy lifestyles among students.
The interactive nature of the workshop facilitated open discussions, enabling students to grasp the profound consequences of drug abuse on individuals, families, communities, and the economy. Emphasis was placed on the imperative need for comprehensive strategies to address this societal challenge effectively.
Diving into the nuances, the Experts elucidated on various drug classifications, their physiological and psychological effects, and the underlying factors contributing to substance abuse behaviours.
The workshop culminated with a resounding call to action, urging all stakeholders to synergize efforts in combating drug abuse. Through heightened awareness, collaborative initiatives, and evidence-based interventions, the collective endeavour aims to empower individuals towards healthier choices, thereby paving the way for a safer, drug-free future.
Ms. Ruchi Chabra, Principal of DPS Jammu urged the students to remain vigilant against the perils of drug abuse and to make informed decisions.
Also present on the occasion were Ms. Meenu Gupta-Headmistress, Mr. Ravi Kumar Kotroo-Headmaster along with Coordinators.
The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Umesh Kumar Sharma, Dy. Headmaster. The workshop's dynamic exchange concluded with an interactive Q&A session, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, symbolizing unity and resolve in the fight against drug abuse.
