DPS Jammu Choir Wins 1st Prize at Dogri Sur Sarvshresta Tara Competition Awarded Cash Prize of ₹5100 for Outstanding Performance

In a proud moment for Delhi Public School Jammu, the school’s talented choir students secured 1st Prize along with a cash award of ₹5100 at the Dogri Sur Sarvshresta Tara Competition held today at MAM College, Jammu. The prestigious event was organized by the Senior Citizen Support Service Club, Village Chowadi, Jammu, a unit of Lajwanti Medical Trust, with the aim of preserving and promoting Dogri language and culture through musical expression.
The competition saw participation from 12 reputed schools across the region, including Jammu Sanskriti Kathua, Ved Niketan, Dogra Academy, Model Academy, Perfect Foundation Secondary School, Siras Higher Secondary School, Sanskriti School Jammu, K.V Nagrota, Govt Higher Secondary School, IDPS Sunjwani, and DPS Jammu.
The DPS Jammu choir team showcased exceptional talent and cultural authenticity, earning high praise from the panel of distinguished judges: Yash Paul Yash (renowned writer and composer), Prof. R.D. Sharma (Retired HOD, Commerce Department, University of Jammu), Sudheer Mahajan, and Captain Lalit Sharma.
The choir was trained and prepared by Ms. Mukti Oberoi, and accompanied by Mr. Anil Baru, both of whom played a pivotal role in guiding the students toward this achievement.
